I am a single mom of two, again, since my second marriage did not worked out well after he got laid off and his parents did not want him to be with me anymore, saying I bring him bad luck. Currently I am making and sell snacks at school canteens and on the street, as well freelancing jobs during the night. Just when I tought things could get any worse then my second divorce, I lost my existing freelancing job from local agency due to less and less request for transcriptions nor translating, and also lots of independence contractors that they have are willing to lowered the fees in order to be selected. And I got hospitalized due to Dengue with no health insurance, so my parents owed to relatives to bailed me out of the hospital in total of IDR 14,000,000. (This is because my ex-husband’s parents prohibited him to assist and wanting all source of income obtained not being shared even a penny for the national health insurance for me and my kids while awaits the divorce process all done).

My home country economic condition is volatile than ever where layoffs happening in everywhere, in every type of business since the pandemic. Left me with a more heavier competition to get a stable work since 2021.

Right now, my current source of income yet don’t meet the ends need and out of option to sell jewelry left to be able to pay the house rent. My parents could not help much, because my father, a retired-post stroke man, whom retirement’s fund have been corrupted by the state-owned company, PT. Jiwasraya and left only half of the agreed plan compensated on a monthly basis by the government. Which still have to save quite a huge amount for the yearly housing tax and support my brother and his family which also in a bloody economic condition right now. And the house is pretty much tiny to fit us all 9 people altogether.

I need help for me and my son for the financial support for cleared out my father’s debt because of my hospitalized, and a small room rent for me and my son near the school (to cut out the transportation cost) while I am trying back thriving with my small business and all sort of small freelancing jobs I have been doing. Since my country have no social security assistance for people with condition like me. The existing social support are those for family with data in the urban national offices at a certain level of poverty.
