I am writing this with a heavy heart, as a mother desperately trying to keep her children’s future from slipping away.

I used to run a small business and worked hard to provide for my family. To keep things going, I often got stock on credit and issued post-dated checks, always hopeful that I could repay through my earnings. But life has taken a painful turn.

My father’s sudden passing not only shattered us emotionally, but it also placed a huge financial burden on our family. Around the same time, my husband’s visa expired—along with my children’s visas. As a result, we’ve been overwhelmed by both emotional grief and financial crisis.

Right now, the most urgent and heartbreaking issue is that my children’s education is at risk. Without valid visas, they cannot continue their schooling. It breaks my heart as a mother to see their future in jeopardy—not because of a lack of ambition or effort, but simply because we can’t afford the renewal fees.

I am still doing everything I can to keep my small business running, but it’s no longer enough to meet all our needs. I am being threatened by creditors due to post-dated checks I issued in better times, and we are struggling even to afford daily essentials, let alone education-related expenses.
