Desperately could use help to get back on my feet
Story
I’m 29 and accumulated over £5,000 in debt. Student loan overpayment of about £1400, rent arrears of around £1100 bank overdraft £1900 2nd bank overdraft of £1100. Total £5,500. So $7100 in USd from GBP.
The reason I’m asking for possible help with this is, this has been accumulated over the past 5 years, since I was first diagnosed with first episode psychosis, and placed on a section under the mental health act where I was hospitalised for 6 weeks until I could go home. I broke under stress, life tragedy llke finding my dad collapsed on the bathroom floor after he suffered a bleed to the brain and ended up with front lobal dementia. Looking after him in hospital for 3 months took it’s toll. Had relationship breakdowns and I didn’t know I had a mental disorder I was yet to be diagnosed with at the time. I’ve been in and out of a psychiatric hospital 4 or 5 times over the last 5 years with psychotic episodes and psychosis. I’ve been diagnosed with bipolar disorder. It’s stopped me functioning for a long time, I tried getting jobs but couldn’t for the life of me carry on I was suffering and still very sick. I have no real way of paying off these debts in the foreseeable future due to my illness and I come from a poor working class family, my mother is a single parent looking after me still, while paying for everything on minimum wage. I accumulated my debts while suffering the worst of my symptoms having bipolar disorder, wasn’t in control of myself or even thinking about my finances as I was in another world altogether, and battling suicidal thoughts and clinical depression every day.
£5,500 raised would be an absolute god send and take the worry off my shoulders. I just got into a mess while suffering with a serious psychiatric condition that became severe in waves. I’m now on the rhght medication, mostly stable and looking to move on to make a new start in life.
