Eviction, Water, and Power
Story
Last year was a very difficult year for me finicially, mentally, and physically. I ended up losing over eighty pounds due to stress. As a last measure, I ended up hitting my 401k for funds to help with rent and medical. As of August, I was getting back on my feet, and things were finally looking up. I had a new job that even payed better.
Then December came, and I got fired for the first time in my life. I have worked and held a job since I was fifteen. I have always prided myself as a hard, dedicated worker, and I have alway been independent and self sufficient.
I am currently forty-two, and have been unemployeed for over two months, and I feel like I am starting to lose my mind. I have no family, and have exhausted all my contacts and friends I have helped over the years between work and home life searching for work and help with bills. You always find who your friends truely are in times of need.
Fortunately, there is a food bank down the road that has helped with groceries. I have searched government agencies, and local charities to help with no luck. Most places need you to have some type of income before they will you. I just receiced a notice to vacate, and I have push my power and water bills as far as they will let me, which is to the end of this week. I currently owe three months rent at $1390 a month with late fees and court fees, my power bill due is $800, and I owe $150 to keep the water on. My power is high because there is a part that needs to be replaced on my A/C unit that constantly causes it to start and stop nonstop all day. If I can make it throught Feburary, My new job will be starting, and I will have my frist checking coming in.
Please, if anyone can help because I don’t know what else to do until I get back working.
