Short Story

My name is Ray A. Schneider, and I am seeking support to rebuild my life. After overcoming a past marked by 21 felonies and 15 years of drug addiction, I have been clean and law-abiding for the past 15 years. Despite building a successful staffing firm, my dreams were crushed by a series of personal tragedies, including a severe car accident and a devastating divorce. I am now aiming to raise $10,000 to secure a warm place to stay and get back to work. Your generosity can help me overcome my challenges and create a better future.

Story

Dear Potential Donors,

My name is Ray A. Schneider, and I am reaching out to you in a time of need and hope. Life has thrown numerous challenges my way, but I have persevered and come out stronger with every struggle. I’m writing to you today to share my story and humbly ask for your support.

Fifteen years ago, I made a decision that changed my life. With a past riddled with over 21 felonies and a battle with drug addiction, I was determined to turn things around. Since then, I have been clean and have not had a single traffic ticket. I was born and raised in Washington state, but in my quest for a better life, I moved to Utah seven years ago to work in the oilfields. My family and I faced this journey alone, with no support system, but we managed to build a small staffing firm of 10-20 people. It was my dream coming to life.

However, life took an unexpected turn. A divorce and a serious car accident crushed my dreams and forced us to move to Oklahoma City to seek new opportunities. Despite our best efforts, I found myself alone once again after another round of personal hardships. A year ago, while traveling for work, my wife left, taking everything with her, and my business faced closure.

Determined to reconnect with my roots and find solace with family, I returned to Washington. However, a tragic accident left me with severe injuries, multiple surgeries, and a long road to recovery. Adding to the weight, I have lost most of my family to the COVID-19 pandemic and my friends have moved away. I am now alone, facing an uphill battle.

I am reaching out to you with the goal of raising $10,000 to help me get back on my feet. This support will provide me with a warm place to stay and enable me to recover and return to work. Your generosity will not only offer me a fresh start but also a chance to rebuild my life and continue the journey of self-improvement that I started 15 years ago.

Thank you for taking the time to read my story. Any help you can provide will be deeply appreciated. Please know that your support can make a world of difference in someone’s life who is determined to overcome their past and build a better future.

With heartfelt gratitude,

Ray A. Schneider
