Story

The Dream Centre is an afterschool program that was started by a NGO organization that sought to help young people in Cape Town, South Africa. In South Africa, almost 53% of children will drop out of school before they get the grade 12. This is due to lack of resources from the government, language barriers, poverty, etc. There are multiple different factors that contribute to that percentage, and the Dream Centre was started in order to help students achieve their dreams without hinderances. The Dream Centre offer students a place to go that has unlimited resources for their projects, test, and other school work that they wouldn’t be able to complete at home. Many of the students do not have internet access or computers to be able to work at home, so that is provided for them along with tutors who can help them in any subject they are struggling with. The Dream Centre seeks to give kids the futures and lives they deserve. No one should be held back by their circumstances that they have no control over. At it’s start, the Dream Centre helped 11 kids. Now, almost 10 years later, 50 children attend the Dream Centre after school to get the help that they need. We have grades 1-9 and we hope to continue to grow. However, as we get more children, we need more funding in order to be able to help them like they deserve. To let them pursue their dreams without any restrictions. Please, consider donating and helping these children build lives for themselves, despite their challenges in life.
