My name is Kent, and I’m a 68-year-old retired handyman who has spent most of my life working with my hands, helping homeowners and small property owners keep their homes safe, livable, and standing strong. For more than two decades, I took pride in being the person people could rely on—whether it was repairing drywall, fixing leaks, painting, doing rehab work, or handling full property renovations. Hard work has always been my foundation, and I’ve never been afraid to earn my way.

Unfortunately, this past year has been the hardest I’ve ever faced. The home repair field slowed down so drastically that the steady work I depended on nearly disappeared. Jobs that once came in regularly simply stopped. Many of the property owners and investors I normally worked with cut back, and the new calls never came. As a result, most of my income vanished almost overnight.

At my age, it’s difficult to start over, and it’s even harder when the work you’ve relied on your whole life suddenly dries up. I’ve tried everything I can to stay afloat—taking smaller jobs, offering discounted work, reaching out to old contacts—but the demand just hasn’t returned. Each month has become a struggle to keep up with rent, utilities, and basic necessities, and it has reached a point where I am falling behind faster than I can catch up.

I am not someone who likes to ask for help. I’ve always been the one doing the helping. But right now, I am facing a situation where I simply cannot bridge the gap on my own. I’m asking for temporary financial support to help cover food, overdue bills, and rent while I work to rebuild enough stability to stand on my own again. I am actively searching for new opportunities and taking whatever work I can find, but I need help surviving this difficult period.

Any amount of support—large or small—would make a tremendous difference. It would give me the breathing room I need to get back on my feet, regain stability, and continue doing the work I’ve always done.
