Story

We are a family of four and have had financial difficulties one after the other for about two years. My husband was the main breadwinner, although I’ve always worked, until he was injured. At the time he was a contract employee so there was no help. After surgery he returned to work until the vehicle that he used for work broke down. We managed to get enough money together for a down payment on a used truck and he returned to work once again, but any emergency money we had put back was gone by this point. This vehicle now will not run after having it for only two months. We cannot afford to have it fixed, are falling behind on the payments and he is unable to work. I am forced to support the family on what I make working for a small, local house cleaning company and have been doordashing, cleaning houses outside of work and taking every opportunity I can find to make extra money, but things are piling up and I’m unsure of how long this is sustainable.
