I am reaching out for help so that my daughter Mckenia Sturrup will be able to continue her education of becoming a Nurse Practitioner. Mckenia has always had a passion for helping others, and this dream was finally within her grasp when she started college. Unfortunately, our family’s journey took an unexpected turn this year, and we need your help.

My husband’s first battle with his prostate was in 2017, things were stable for several years. However, in January 2024, we received devastating news during a routine doctor’s visit that his prostate problems were back, which led to mounting medical bills and the need for surgery before the end of the year.

Despite our best efforts to keep Mckenia in school, the financial strain became overwhelming. In September 2024 we had to make the difficult decision to pause her education. This was heartbreaking for us, especially for Mckenia, who has worked so hard and is eager to return to her studies.

Mckenia’s Student Insurance is fully paid, costing $2,500.00, and her Student Visa is secured for the next three years. However, the University has set a deadline for her to confirm her intention to return for Spring Semester 2025 by November of this year. If she cannot, she will have to again pay for her Student Insurance for there is no refund and go through the daunting process of reapplying for her Student Visa.

Mckenia is determined to finish her education, and I believe in her ability to succeed. With your generosity, you can help her get back on track and achieve her dreams of becoming a Nurse Practitioner. Every contribution, no matter how small, will make a difference in Mckenia’s life and future.
