As a mother and grandmother on the wrong side of 50, being laid off from two jobs within a 9 month period due to Covid’s economic financial strains, I had to take the drastic decision to move to the countryside in order to cut down on all financial expenses the big city brought along.

My one & only daughter, a single mother of two babies moved with me due to the fact that I assist her in raising the babies.

Time has moved on and the oldest grandbaby now needs to be enrolled into school as a first grader, foundation phase . South Africa’s new school year starts in January 2025, which means we need to get back to the city to the settle in before he starts school.

I am also grateful to announce that I’ve already been offered a new job in Johannesburg starting January 2025, but have absolutely no financial means to carry the expenses of such a move or to rent us appropriate accommodion near a school. We’ve been living off-the-grid the past few years with the bare minimum.

Not only depends this darling little angel’s academic education, but his whole future now solely in the hands of strangers who would be empathetic to the situation, hearts filled with love and compassion for a child.
