I was involved in a hit and run, then robbed
Story
Hello, everyone. I never thought I’d be on a site like this begging for money, but I am extremely, sincerely desperate.
Three weekends ago, while driving home with my husband, I was hit hard out of nowhere by someone coming out of a parking lot. Upon exiting the vehicle to talk to the other person and get their information, they came up screaming and yelling in mine and my husband’s faces. While being yelled at, I went to interject that he had in fact hit MY car, when a man in a parked vehicle in the same parking lot got out and pulled his shirt up, holding onto a gun. Of course, we’d never been in that situation before, threw our hands up, yelling “NO NO NO NO NO!” I grabbed my wallet and offered them all of my cash. As soon as the man who hit us saw it, he ripped my whole wallet out of my hands, dropped everything on the ground, picked it up, got into his minimally damaged vehicle, and sped off with the other vehicle operated by the man with the gun, minutes before a police officer arrived. On top of everything, he totaled my car, the only asset I had to my name. I’m still waiting on my new license and other documents in the mail, I don’t have a car, and I’ve only mustered up $500 cash to put on a down payment for a new car, which isn’t enough. I’m relying on ride-sharing, which is difficult, considering I’m the sole driver for my mother and husband, who don’t drive.
If there’s anyone out there who can donate just a little bit, anything, to help, you will be changing the life of a low-income family who desperately need a car to survive. And through your generosity, I will pledge to find some way in life to pay it back, whether it be to you, or someone else I may come across in need.
Thank you for listening, God bless.
