Short Story

My family fell apart overnight. My parents were crushed financially by the legal system and lost everything, and suddenly I became the head of the household — supporting my siblings, working 12-hour days, going to college, drowning in debt, and trying to hold everyone together alone. I’m exhausted, overwhelmed, and out of options. Any help, even $1, would mean the world to us right now.

Story

My name is Enzo, and this is the hardest thing I’ve ever had to write.

My life turned upside down almost overnight. My parents were crushed by the legal system — everything they had worked for was drained away in an instant. Their accounts, their savings, their stability… gone. And the moment it happened, all of the responsibility fell directly onto me.

I didn’t just become the oldest son.

I became the head of the household.

I have crushing debt on my shoulders — my own, and now theirs too. My parents aren’t here to support us, and every day I’m doing everything I can just to keep our family standing on both feet.

I’m in college, full-time.

I’m working a commission-only job with 12-hour days.

I’m trying to start a business to survive.

I’m raising and supporting my siblings.

I’m dealing with nonstop pressure, fear, and emotional weight.

And I’m doing it alone.

I hear my parents’ cries on the phone.

I hear the blame.

I hear the fear.

I hear the disappointment in their voices that they can’t be here for us.

And I’ve been trying so hard — too hard — to carry everything by myself.

I sacrificed all my real estate plans, all my goals, all my dreams, just to keep my family from collapsing. And now, I’m at the point where I can’t help myself anymore.

I don’t have even one minute in my day to breathe.

Not one moment to think.

Not one moment to recover.

I’m mentally exhausted.

Emotionally drained.

Financially drowning.

But I’m still trying. Every day.

For my siblings. For my parents. For the little bit of hope I’ve been holding onto.

I’ve never asked for help like this before.

I’ve always been the one who stepped up, who handled everything, who figured it out.

But right now… I can’t.

I need help.

Even the smallest donation — $1, $2, anything — will help me buy food, keep bills paid, and keep my family from falling deeper into a hole we didn’t dig but are trapped in.

If you’re reading this, thank you.

If you donate, thank you from the bottom of my heart.

You’re helping not just me — you’re helping an entire family trying to survive something we never saw coming.

I’m exhausted. I’m scared. But I’m not giving up.

Please… if you can help, it means more than you will ever know.

🙏 Thank you for giving us a chance to breathe again.

🙏 Thank you for believing in me when I’m fighting so hard to believe in myself.
