Help W.A.I.T. Keep D.C.’s Most Vulnerable Fed and Protected This Month
Story
When you are living on the streets, you don’t have the luxury of sitting back and thinking about the future. Survival takes up 100% of your brain power.
I’m Ryan, and I run What Am I Thinking Inc. (W.A.I.T.), it is a boots-on-the-ground organization in Washington, D.C. We step into the gap for individuals experiencing homelessness, mental health crises, and extreme poverty. We don’t have massive corporate backers or million-dollar grants; we rely entirely on direct human kindness to keep our supply runs moving.
Right now, our emergency fund is completely depleted, but the need on the pavement hasn’t stopped. We are turning to Begslist because $5, $10, or $20 from a stranger directly buys meals, hygiene kits, and emergency shelter resources for someone who has nowhere else to turn today. We are asking you to pause, look at our mission, and help us keep doing the heavy lifting.”
I worked as a community advocate for 4 years assisting the homeless, those with substance abuse, and mental illness. I realize the people at the upper echelon, do not care about humanity or the well being of those who are not as fortunate. I do not know how anything about the corporate world, but I had to fill a void so my people, our people, our community would not continue to be overlooked. This is my website and this is what I do – www.waitdc.com Cashapp – $wait4dc
