Short Story

A few months ago, life felt stable.

I was working at a gaming studio UX/UI, building my career and planning the next chapter of my life. Then I lost my job suddenly because of tech layoffs.

Shortly after, I started another job, hopeful, rebuilding, ready to move forward. But following the war that has just started and affected the arab world and the economic ripple effects, the company went through a few layoffs focused new employees… and I was let go again.

Two job losses in a short period. Both completely out of my control. After being stable at a previous job for many years.

At the same time, I just got married a bit over a year ago. We moved into a beautiful apartment that finally felt like home; a space we built together from scratch. It’s not luxury. It’s stability. It’s safety. It’s the first place that truly feels like ours.

We also have a young adorable and playful Bengal Cat / Toffee who is 1.5 years old, who depends on us, and giving her up is not something we’re willing to do.

Right now, I’m actively searching for work and exploring freelance opportunities. I have strong experience in design and project leadership, and I’m confident I’ll recover. But recovery takes time, and 6-month rent payment doesn’t wait.

I need urgent support to cover rent while I secure my next role. This is a short-term bridge to prevent losing our home during a difficult transition.

If you’re able to contribute, even a small amount, it would help more than you know.
If you can’t donate, sharing this would mean the world.

I’ve always believed in standing on my own feet. Asking for help isn’t easy. But sometimes stability requires community.

Thank you for reading. Truly.
