Hello everyone!

I am a 19-years-old girl from Europe living in New Zealand, on the other side of the world from my home. I arrived over three months ago and I work as an au pair. I have been very sad for a long time, and I fear it’s becoming depression soon. I didn’t realise how much I’d miss my family. I love my host family but I feel very lonely and would just want to return home. I just feel guilty leaving earlier so that isn’t an option for me.

A member of my family was going to visit me for Christmas, but due sudden medical reasons she may not be able to come. The other option is to fly someone else here but they don’t have the money, it’s obviously very expensive to come all this way. I just miss my family do much I don’t know if I can bear another 6 months here without seeing them.

So I’m asking, if you have any money you don’t need, consider this. We don’t have any spare money and would like to fly 1-2 people from my family to here, Auckland. The plane tickets aren’t so cheap anymore because this change of plans came so sudden.
