My wife, our two children, and I are currently living in Haiti, a country we’ve called home for our entire lives. However, life here has become unbearable due to the worsening violence and insecurity. We recently lost our home, the place where we created so many precious memories, to the relentless violence of Haitian gangs. Since then, we’ve been on the run, constantly looking over our shoulders and fearing for our lives. This is not the life we want for our children. They deserve safety, stability, and a future filled with hope. After much thought and prayer, we’ve decided that moving to Brazil offers us the best chance to rebuild our lives and provide a better future for our family. However, we cannot do this alone.
