Story

Hello,

My name is Elwyn Sheasby, and I am embarking on a transformative agricultural venture in Murehwa, Zimbabwe. With a vision to promote food security, create employment, and foster sustainable farming practices, I aim to develop a 2-acre farm that integrates crop cultivation, poultry farming, aquaculture, and mushroom production.

Project Components:

  1. Deep Well System: To ensure a reliable water supply for irrigation and livestock, a deep well will be established.

  2. 1-Acre Greenhouse: Construction of a greenhouse to facilitate year-round cultivation of high-demand vegetables such as tomatoes, onions, cabbages, butternut squash, and sweet potatoes.

  3. Poultry Housing for 50,000 Chickens: Development of a modern poultry facility equipped with automated feeding and waste management systems to optimize production efficiency.

  4. Aquaculture Reservoirs: Installation of four fish reservoirs, each capable of housing 10,000 fish, to diversify farm income and contribute to local protein sources.

  5. Mushroom Cultivation Facility: Establishment of a controlled environment for the production of button mushrooms, tapping into a niche market with high demand.

Budget Overview:

Based on current market estimates in Zimbabwe, the projected costs are as follows:

  • Deep Well System: $5,000 – $10,000

  • 1-Acre Greenhouse: $16,000 – $30,000

  • Poultry Housing for 50,000 Chickens: Approximately $60,000 – $90,000, considering construction and equipment costs

  • Aquaculture Reservoirs: $20,000 – $40,000

  • Mushroom Cultivation Facility: $10,000 – $15,000

  • Crop Cultivation Inputs (Seeds, Fertilizers, Tools): $5,000 – $10,000

  • Labor and Miscellaneous Expenses: $10,000 – $15,000

Total Estimated Budget: $200,000

Impact:

Your support will not only bring this project to fruition but also:

  • Create employment opportunities for local residents

  • Enhance food security in the region

  • Promote sustainable and diversified farming practices

  • Serve as a model for integrated agriculture in Zimbabwe

Every contribution, no matter the size, brings us closer to realizing this vision. Together, we can cultivate a future of abundance and sustainability in Murehwa.

Thank you for your generosity and belief in this mission.

Warm regards,

Elwyn Sheasby
