Hello friends, we will not take up too much of your time. We are Jackie and Mike and we have been married for 31 years and have raised two children and had a successful construction company for many years right here in Florida. In 2013 we were in a car accident and were both seriously injured and furthermore disabled resulting in the loss of our home and draining our savings. We managed to get through that and we were able to find a place to rent that we could afford with our meager SSDI benefits. About four years later we were broadsided again resulting in even more serious injuries and requiring lengthy hospital stays for both of us and rendering us both completely disabled and absolutely broke. With the help of our children and some friends we managed to find an RV to rent on a nice peaceful property in Loxahatchee Florida and again with the help of our children, neighbors and friends we have survived these last few years and even begun to heal both physically and psychologically. Hurricane Milton and the tornadoes it spawned decimated our little home and the owner of the property has made the decision to get rid of all the trailers here and the people who live here for the most part have no money and no where to go. We’ve all been living in our cars and tents for the last two weeks and for disabled and elderly people this method of survival is difficult at best and sometimes impossible at times. We have had some help with food and water but FEMA is not interested in helping poor people and has instead of assisting us referred us to the SBA to try to get a loan for which we will never in a million years be approved for even if that’s what we wanted to do. Please help us out with trying to buy a small place to live for the rest of our days. We have at times been blessed in our lives and we are most definitely the PAY IT FORWARD kind of people. I know that there are a lot of decent and generous people out there and I am appealing to your good nature, please share some of your good fortune with us and help us to find some measure of peace and tranquility so we may yet again pay it forward by whatever means we can.
