There are moments in life when doing the right thing comes with an unexpected price.
Today, a devoted single mother is facing one of the most difficult seasons of her life—not because of something she did wrong, but because she chose to help a vulnerable child in need.
When she learned of a child struggling within the foster care system, she stepped forward with an open heart, hoping to provide support, stability, and advocacy. What began as an act of compassion quickly turned into a nightmare when she became entangled in a legal situation stemming from an erroneous charge that she maintains she did not commit.
Now, instead of focusing on caring for her own children and rebuilding her life, she is fighting to clear her name while facing mounting legal expenses she simply cannot afford.
The consequences have been devastating.
This hardworking mother has received eviction notices, struggled to keep food on the table, and watched her savings disappear as legal fees continue to grow. The stress and uncertainty have affected every aspect of her life. Most heartbreaking of all, the circumstances now threaten the stability of her own children—the very children she has worked tirelessly to protect, nurture, and provide for.
No parent should have to choose between paying an attorney and feeding their children.
No family should face homelessness because a mother chose compassion over indifference.
Despite these challenges, she continues to fight. She continues to show up for her children every day. She continues to believe that justice will prevail and that brighter days are ahead. But right now, she cannot do it alone.
