Story
My name is Rei and I moved from the U.S. to England in October 2023 to live with my partner, Jay. It has been a HUGE struggle to survive. He is autistic and is only able to work 25 hours a week and I don’t yet have the right to work in the UK. Needless to say we struggle to make ends meet. Our landlady has recently told us that we need to start looking for a new place, but WE HAVE BEEN LOOKING SINCE OCTOBER 2023! After all this time we still haven’t found anything we can afford with a £1000 per month paycheck and now we are being forced to find somewhere to go. I’ve looked everywhere and haven’t found any place less that £750 per month for rent alone. Due to these circumstances we are soon going to be homeless. We need help so badly… If there’s anyone out there that can help us even a little bit, we would be eternally grateful. I just don’t know what else to do…
