$15,000 to Save Veteran Mom’s Home
Story
My mom is a US veteran. She owns a home but unfortunately got behind on payments due to financial hardship. We’ve been having trouble getting a loan modification with her mortgage company, and have had outstanding but limited help from the VA (She doesn’t qualify for the VASP program, which would reduce her payments). So we are in a very tight space. I’m trying to do everything in my power to help her keep her home. The best way forward would be to reduce the balance we owe, in the hopes that when it comes time to try to appeal, we can have a stronger case for getting the loan modification.
Please keep in mind that we have the funds to pay the mortgage month to month. That isn’t the issue. However, I think the sticky situation right now is getting us back up to date. So I am asking for help, so we can get our loan up to date. Every little bit helps.
Transparency: We are trying a few different avenues to try to secure funding. Mostly through the VA and local orgs. If we do secure funding those and they cover what we need, I will stop the campaign immediately.
