Story

Having had cats all my life, I was over the moon happy that  Jon Snow chose us as his forever family!

Jon snow turned 8 last April. What made his birthday extra special was, his estimated DOB was 4/2/2016…

You see, my birthday is 0n 4/4 and get this! my son’s birthday is 4/3.

So, all three of us celebrated our special days in a row! only, we had no way of knowing that last year would be his last earthly birthday with us 🙁

Our kitty’s unwavering love and devotion is something I’ll cherish forever!

There was a change in his diet to provide even more nutrition and incorporate immune boosting nutrients,to his overall wellbeing. His age was a marker for me to make some good changes…

Of course, our pets need time to adjust to any dietary changes. Jon Snow began to exhibit some weight loss and another intermittent symptom soon after the dietary change.

The new food was adding sheen to his already soft coat and it wasn’t until a little more weight loss, then a sudden noticable protruding abdomen, that prompted a prioritized visit to  our Vet.

That eximination resulted in the Doctor telling me,unfortunately things did not look good.

She then referred me to an Internal Medicine Vet. Specialist for a consultation and testing.

In summary, Jon Snow’s health began to decline rapidly. We did a boold panel and samples of his spleen tissue. Also, a procedure to drain fluid form his swollen abdomen 🙁

Both our regular well check Vet. and the specialist assured me/us ( my son) that the change in diet had nothing to do with what they were observing. Cats are rather stoic, and can mask symptoms for quite some time, until we notice unusual changes.

While some of the lab tests results showed swollen lymph nodes and a build up of fluid around the lungs, another test result was still pending. The cytology test, that is used to diagnose feline Lymphoma. Everything was pointing to that thus far.

On Sunday, December 8, 2024 Jon Snow sadly, lost his fight and passed away, here at home.

We miss him so much and do things in our everyday lives to honor his memory 🙂

Our medical Vet. bills including his memorial ashes totalled near $6,000.

Of course you cannot put a price on the effort made to try and heal him.

This financial amount has come from my emergency funds and  if it were possible to recover some of that, I’d be forever greatful.  I do work and I’m in the low-income bracket with my line of work. I’m also trying to brainstorm ideas to write and create a chidrens book(s) in the near future.

Thank you for taking the time to read through this campaign

In gratitude,
