Hi everyone, my name is Mlungisi male from South Africa. I urgently need help with visa costs in Uae Dubai. 7500 AED/2000 USD

I arrived in Dubai in 2023 to start work. I received an offer letter to earn 11200 Aed and 60% commission for the fitness industry. I was promised  accommodation, reimbursement of flight ticket and accommodation up until I start work, and daily meals.

Therefore, I spent my savings coming to Dubai (sold the car) keeping track of my money thinking I would be reimbursed back and receive income.

On my arrival to Dubai I was told I need to do medical tests before I start work with my own money, which I did not have, so I had to use my mothers credit card to do all the medical and drug tests required including physical tests, only told to keep receipts.

I did not spend time looking for other jobs up until my tourist visa was expired as I was told, I should continue waiting until they process my visa status,  I agreed, because I learnt in Dubai all jobs have minimum contract of 2 years for employment, meaning if I joined any company, I would be committed to it and not the initial work I came for.

Fast forward from that, when my visa expired and received no response from the agency, I went to their office location to only find out their office number given does not exist.

I panicked and got depressed for a while, especially because I do not know anyone, and have used my mothers credit card that I still owe today.

I tried to follow up with them to only acknowledge after submitting all my documents that they have deactivated all their emails, socials and contact numbers..

I accepted defeat shortly after, I also tried opening a police case but never got any response. Instead of returning home in debt, I encouraged myself to look for new work and forget about this terrible experience.

I found some work two months after applying and doing interviews to only lead to another company with bad reviews.  Worked in that company but was not able to pay salary or if they did ever pay, they would in their time. (had to make landlord arrangements)

Fast forward,  I stopped working there especially when I had to go to head offices etc for my  promised compensation. I had enough of Dubai.

On my plan to leave Dubai before the year ended, I received communication from my friend that I should not leave Dubai until I try this company in Media city with my experience. Free lance company recommended to me that I should look for personal clients for gym coaching. I can train and save up to do my freelance visa.

I  started building clients up until  before Christmas. My clients left Dubai for their countries  for holidays promising me they’ll return some time in the year 2024. Only one did return.

I still had hope thinking the new year means when people come back from December/January holidays, they will hire coaching eventually, returning to gyms in February month because of new year resolutions etc.

Between February up until May month 2024, I have no money, only money I receive is barely surviving, paying accommodation and food, not having any savings thinking each month would be better.

To only acknowledge that the little space I had to go back home is also now no longer available to stay.

I went to Dubai internet city to look for work in a residential gym. I worked there a little bit over a month but was cheated when it was time for payments as I have no papers. I accepted it, and left their business..

Been supported by a friend from Uzbekistan shortly after because now been struggling to even pay rent or food, but he could also do so much as he was in real estate also struggling to close deals himself.

I did a few more interviews and tried to even change industries into security work but with no luck, instead of only finding more scam companies, I know because they would ask me to pay upfront first then receive work.

To make it worsen. It has been summer in Dubai the last two months meaning no business at all.

Here I only ask to be helped with visa costs especially this season as I will not be charged tens of thousands for overstays or/and abscond fees.

At least with a visa I can have a Uae sim card, able to move freely without avoiding cops and importantly I can try work without being stuck to unreasonable/irresponsible companies.

Also I would appreciate any kind of help,  food, work or accommodation
