Short Story
We are a hardworking Couple who recently lost our home, job and stability as well as the wonderful life we were building on Monday November 3rd when the world we knew turned upside down. The company was filling bankruptcy and they were also our landlord so we had three days to Vacate the premises. I understand some of you will think we put ourselves here, we probably like it, it’s a choice to be homeless but that’s not how or who we are. We hate being homeless and didn’t make decisions that put us here. It was uncontrollable events and deceitful actions that led us to the situation we are in nothing more than that.

Hardworking Couple & Dog Living in Hatchback After Sudden Job/Home Loss – Seeking Van for Fresh Start
The Situation:
My name is James, and my partner is Rhonda. Until recently, we had a life we loved—living in a tiny house with a big yard for our Belgian Malinois, Dio. I worked for a small construction company owned by people we thought were friends. On November 3rd, everything changed.
Our employers filed for bankruptcy without warning. Because they also owned the home we were renting, they informed us they were selling the property immediately. We were given 3 days to move out. With only $300 in savings and no paycheck coming, we lost almost everything we couldn’t fit into our 2005 Saab 9-2X.
Where we are now:
Since November, the three of us have been living out of the Saab. It is incredibly cramped, especially for Dio, who went from chasing squirrels in a big yard to being confined to a small backseat. We used our remaining savings for food and basic survival.
Our Goal:
We aren’t looking for a handout; we are looking for a step up. We want to trade our Saab for a reliable van.
* Why a van? It provides the space we need to sleep properly, store tools, and get ready for work so we can maintain a professional appearance. Most importantly, it gives Dio enough room to live safely while we get back on our feet.
Our Commitment:
We are workers. We are willing to work for the donations we receive. If you are in our area and need construction labor, cleaning, or odd jobs, we are ready to earn our keep. We want to make the best of this situation rather than letting it get the best of us.
Transparency:
We know the internet is full of stories, so we offer full transparency:
* We have photos of our current living situation and our former home.
* We can provide testimonials from people who know our work ethic and our character.
* We can show proof of our previous employment and the sudden bankruptcy.
Anything helps—whether it’s a donation toward a van, a lead on a vehicle trade, or a job offer. We just want to get back to a life where Dio has room to stretch and we have a floor to stand on.
We are continuously searching for Vans for trade and have asked multiple listing if they would be willing to make a trade for our 2005 Saab 9-2X Linear Hatchback. We have not had anyone accept the offer but we won’t give up so easily. She is older but runs great and doesn’t need any major mechanical work but does need some minor work and the interior needs work from our vivacious pup!
