• ‎Hi there, I hope you receive this request in good health. My name is Brian (52 years old) and I reside in a rural suburb with my companion Charlene (57 years old) in Paradise Beach, Jeffreys Bay South Africa.

‎It sounds ideal but I can assure you that myself and Charlene are in dire straits due to the fact that we have no food to eat and there’s no employment to be found due of the high unemployment rate in Jeffreys Bay.

To complicate things even more the municipality will be rebuilding the causeway that connects us to Jeffreys Bay and our means of living will be negatively affected to say the least.

‎This project is going to take at least five months to complete.

This is our main road that runs over the Seekoei Estuary to the town of Jeffreys Bay.

Our major concern is that we are basically cut off from civilization to get the essentials for basic survival.

We depend on a small pension from Charlene which covers the rent and what is left over is not even enough for food to last a week.

Sadly she also suffers from Grand Mal A+ Epilepsy and has to purchase her own medication because the government clinic is often out of stock and securing a doctor’s appointment is yet to happen because the doctor is never available or other people get pushed in before her.

‎This is not cheap and I simply cannot find work regardless of how many CVs I submit to the companies in Jeffreys Bay for employment.

‎We do not have transport to commute the alternative dirt road which is at least 25 km further than the current route.

‎This is a major issue for us and we are at our wits end as to what to do.

Any donation or assistance in any way would be a Godsend for us to last the five months and to possibly purchase a small vehicle or motorcycle.

The only thing that really matters here is Charlene, our cat Ripley and her quality of life or at least what is left of it.

She already has so much on her plate to contend with and I really think that she, at her age, and the Epilepsy she has to endure on a daily basis, deserves a little bit better.

‎She is a special person with a heart of gold and a personality to match.

‎I am basically her caregiver and companion but sadly, due to circumstances beyond my control, I cannot care for her and it is heartbreaking to see her going hungry and having to deal with her debilitating condition.
