Hello! My name is Christopher, and I have created a business called The Rusty Flamingo Sandwich Shop and Market! I love food, mainly the deli food world! I worked for 15 years in a retail food environment, running a pizza and sandwich shop, slicing meats and cheeses in the deli, preparing cold salads, and running hot foods as well. My wife Christine and I have 8 children, 5 of whom still live at home, and we have a few who want to create food as well! We also have 4 grandchildren! Our family has beaten some pretty big odds, and we still stand. From our son having been diagnosed with cancer(and surviving!), to our 2, yes 2, house fires, and my open heart surgery last year, we are due for a big win! So The Rusty Flamingo will be a family business! I have created a full menu, an awesome signature product, our Stuffed Saucers, and an awesome mascot, Rusty the Flamingo! The colors, black and hot pink, catch the eye, the food is mouth-watering, and we are ready to fly! That is all but financially. I have gathered what I can financially week by week, whether that be small equipment, spending time building the menu, or creating the brand. We have been so lucky to find a location willing to offer us 3 months of free rent until the end of July to help get us started. Time is running out, but some things need to be done to get the doors open. I am about to create the LLC. We need financial help to get our business licence and insurance, and to purchase supplies and a few major pieces of equipment, including an exhaust hood (bought and installed), a double fryer, and a 36-inch flat-top grill, which is not included at the location. Included at the location is a 48-inch Bain Marie, a deli case, a scale, and a deli slicer. There is a market set up as well, that we would like to get moving again. They carried fresh farm milk and eggs, a community favorite. We are in need of a regular old cash register. Card payments will be figured out later, or an ATM machine will be installed, as card payment charges are about the same as the costs of using an ATM these days!
