Story

Greetings all,

My name is Danielle. I recently lost my job about 5 weeks before my 1 year anniversary there. I really liked the job. I was a work from home telephone representative which I have previous experience in. I’ve applied for unemployment here in Texas. I qualify based on my wages over the past 4 quarters but it is not guaranteed if the company contests. My internet bill is past due $104, total due $204 but, in order to keep the internet on and not get it suspended I must pay the past due at least of $104 by tomorrow August 28. This is super important because this is how I am applying for jobs, revising my resume for every listing I apply for and without the internet being connected, I won’t be able to find an new job which will also disqualify me from receiving benefits as I have to keep a log of my applications and send it to unemployment each week.

I am worried about food for the month, I don’t have kids so getting food stamps is a 30 day waiting game and even then, it is not guaranteed & 1 tank of gasoline to get me through. I will be late on rent but I can get that figured out I think as my spouse is working full time (also relying on the internet with their work at home job) and all of their pay this Friday will HAVE to go toward rent since I won’t have income for a short time.

I have reached out to the internet service provider but since I am already past due, my cutoff date is August 28th to pay at least $104 or services will be interrupted. I don’t have any other options.

I have very good sources for work at home jobs that are hiring and I am positive I can get something very soon. This is a temporary set back due to my job loss and any help would be greatly appreciated. I do my best to pay it forward even when I can’t really afford to – it’s just a feeling you get when you run into someone who is in need and I understand that.

Thank you for hearing my story and any sort of help is a blessing.
