Dear Friends, Family, and Kind Hearts,

My name is Christopher Lopez, I am a single father to three incredible children: my 15-year-old, my 5-year-old, and my 3-year-old. Every day, I strive to give them a life filled with love, stability, and support, but I am facing immense challenges that make it nearly impossible to do so. I am reaching out today in hopes of finding compassion and assistance during this difficult time.

Currently, I am living with my parents, who have been controlling and emotionally abusive. Their narcissistic behavior has created a toxic environment that impacts not just me, but my children as well. They often take my money and dictate how I should spend it, leaving me struggling to provide for my family. The stress of this situation feels overwhelming, and I constantly worry about how I will afford even the basic necessities for my kids.

To complicate matters further, my children’s mother struggles with addiction and has abandoned us, leaving me to shoulder the full weight of parenting alone. My eldest is navigating the trials of adolescence, while my younger two are still in their formative years. The 5-year-old is in school and is full of curiosity, while my 3-year-old still relies on diapers. The love I have for them drives me to seek a better life, but I feel trapped in my current circumstances.

Financially, I am overwhelmed. As a single-income household, I find it increasingly difficult to cover rent, utilities, groceries, and other essential expenses. I want to be able to buy my children clothes that fit, provide them with healthy meals, and even take them on small outings that create lasting memories. Instead, I often find myself worrying about how to keep a roof over our heads.

I am actively seeking a way out of this challenging situation, but I need help to take that first step. I dream of finding a safe and nurturing environment where my children can thrive and feel secure. However, the costs associated with moving—first month’s rent and a security deposit—are beyond my current means.
