Support Faiza and Her Children
Story
I am a mother of four—three boys and one girl, ages 3, 5, 9, and 11. Before the pandemic, we led a stable life in the UAE where my husband ran a small tourism business. When COVID-19 hit, the tourism industry was devastated, and our business collapsed overnight. We used our savings and sold assets just to get by, believing that things would improve once the pandemic ended.
Unfortunately, financial struggles have persisted, leaving us in a desperate situation. My husband has tried tirelessly to find new opportunities, but mounting debts and the lack of financial support have made it impossible for him to start over. We are now struggling to afford even basic necessities.
Our biggest challenge is that our children are out of school. My eldest son, who is 11, should be in the fifth grade, but he and his siblings can’t attend school due to the high fees we can’t afford. Without income from the tourism business, we are unable to provide this essential part of their future.
Adding to our difficulties, our residence visas have expired, resulting in fines we can’t pay. This has prevented my husband from finding any formal work. Our only income comes from occasional freelance work, which barely covers our food costs. We are overdue on rent and utility bills, and our landlord is pressing us to vacate.
We have no family or friends who can assist us and no home to return to in our home country. We are reaching out to the community for help to renew our visas, pay our bills, and get our children back to school. Any support you can provide would be deeply appreciated and crucial for our family’s stability and future.
