Imagine being placed in a classroom where everything feels too loud, too bright, or too overwhelming—and there’s no safe space to reset or just breathe. This is the daily reality for many special education students who are integrated into mainstream classes without the calming tools and spaces they need to succeed.

I’m raising funds to create Comfort Corners in several mainstream classrooms—dedicated, calming spaces for special ed students to self-regulate, reduce sensory overload, and feel supported during the school day. These spaces will include soft seating, fidget tools, calming visuals, noise-canceling headphones, and emotion regulation aids—all thoughtfully designed to help students feel safe and seen.

Too often, our special ed kids are placed in general education settings with no extra support or accommodations beyond paperwork. This small initiative can make a big difference in their academic and emotional success.

Sensory tools (fidgets, stress balls, textured toys)
Soft furnishings (beanbags, cushions, rugs)
Visual supports (emotion charts, calming posters)
Noise-reducing items (headphones, white noise machines)
Storage bins to keep everything organized
