Stuck in a rut.
Story
Back in August of 2023 I was working as a independent mobile mechanic, living and working out of my conversion van. I left my van at a drugstore parking lot and rode with a friend to go have lunch when I returned to my van it was gone. I knew the store manager and went inside to find out if she knew where my van went and she told me that the police towed it. When I confronted the police department they said they have no record of towing my van. That put me out of work and my place to live and on the streets with the clothes on my back. Started from nothing for the next year and a half I collected bottle deposits and took small jobs to survive on a bicycle living in a tent. I managed to save up $1,000.00 and found a 1996 Toyota Corolla for $1,000.00 that runs great but I cannot come up with $410.00 for registration, insurance and smog fees and have been threatened by the police several times to get car legal or the next time they see my car their impounding it. I worked so hard to get it and if I could get it legal I can use this car to get back to work and on my feet again I just can’t come up with the money and feed myself at the same time. I’m living in my car as well. I need help and I have no problem paying anyone that could help me back the money with interest. I’ve worked and paid my taxes for 43 years now and I’ve always operated in cash so I’ve no credit history and nobody will give credit because of it and I have no employer I’ve been self employed since 1998. It may not sound like much $410.00 to come up with but it’s been impossible for me in this rut that I’m in I just turned 57 years January 14th. I’m not asking for a handout I’ll pay it back please help me before I end up on the streets again please. Thank you for taking your to read this please for help.
