Sinking in Financial Quicksand
Story
I don’t have an emotionally moving story to share. This is simply the case of someone who was living paycheck to paycheck and making things work until unforeseen circumstances ruined my finances.
I was financially stable (not comfortable, but stable) due to my full-time corporate job, until I moved a few months ago, and had a few unexpected expenses arise at the same time (some related to the move, others not.) I had to put things on credit, even opening up new credit cards to cover some costs. I have been trying my best to get back on my feet, but every month I am a little further behind and more in debt. My total debt is just over $10,000, but with $5,000 I could at least pay off my largest credit card and get rid of the $350 monthly minimum, which would at least give me more money to put towards my other bills. Even $2,000 would allow me to get caught up on rent, all utilities, and pay off two of my smaller credit cards.
For me, those seem like astronomical amounts of money right now. I can barely eat or sleep because of this stress. I just want to stop getting 400+ creditor calls each month.
But I know for many people in this world, they drop thousands on new bags or shoes or fancy meals. I am just hoping someone is willing and able to throw some money in my direction so I can get back out of debt and start fixing my plummeting credit score.
