Writing this feels both humbling and challenging, but I’ve realised that asking for help is sometimes necessary, especially when it comes to providing a better future for my children. I am 30 years old, a single mother to a wonderful child, and currently expecting my second. Life has been tough lately. I’m unemployed, and the little I have goes towards rent, food, and school fees for my child. The rising costs make it almost impossible to save or build something sustainable for our future. My dream is to give my children a stable home—a place to call our own. I would also love to start a small business to create a steady income, but the constant financial strain of rent and daily expenses leaves me with no room to invest in this dream.
