Story

My name is Edward Russell and in October 2013 I had 3 mini strokes. They are call T I A’s ( Transient Ischemic Attack) that left me in severe pain. After seeing multiple doctors, including Johns Hopkins University I was eventually prescribed Percocet and Lyrica for pain. I continued to work at DC Housing Authority as a Maintenance Supervisor until I was let go around 2018. Fasting forward I was left with an opiate addiction that ruined my life. I raised my 3 kids alone and helped raise my nephew who parents had passed away. I was active in church and I never used any drugs or alcohol during this time period. I eventually married to a great woman name Shelly Regina Moore who eventually divorced me because my personality was altered by the prescribed medication. I lost everything and I’ve recently regained control over my addiction but my life is in shambles. I’m trying to stay focused and really just need a hand up. I never stole from family or friends and yet I have no one that’s available to help me restore my life. I’m truly trusting the God of Abraham, Isaac and Jacob to aid and redeem me and I hope that someone who believes in God is willing to help me. All blessings are not of God and all I ask for is someone to meet me a see my circumstances so they can decide if and how they can help. I have multiple trades in building repairs and I just want to be in a position that I can provide for myself. I’m in need of a work truck and tools and a small donation for room and board until I am able to earn so money. I truly do have faith but I believe faith without works is dead. If I’m able to get assistance from anyone I will be willing to repay my debt as soon as I’m able. There’s more to my story but I don’t want anyone feeling sorry for me. I hope our Lord and Savior moves you to aid me.
