Dear Sir / Madam,

I am 52 years old and work as a CCTV installation technician. I have two school-going daughters. We live in Sri Lanka.

Sir/Madam, to be honest, I have enough income to live on. I do not make false claims to gain sympathy. My wife, two children, and my mother live in harmony and happiness. My wife cannot work because my aged sick mother needs someone to take care of her full-time and because she has to take care of the children. But my wife is good at managing my salary to cover our food, children’s all education expenses, utility expenses, my elderly mother’s medicine expenses, etc. She is a very good mother, wife, and daughter to my mother.

We do not have any luxury goods. We do not have any vehicles. But we do not dream about them. The reason is that they are not real according to our economy.

But there is only one problem to get solved. That is, the house that provides shade for our heads. In fact, the house we live in is extremely dilapidated. The roof is severely decayed. The walls are also cracked. When it rains, water leaks from everywhere on the roof to the point that it is impossible to stay inside.

Until now, we have lived in this house with minor repairs according to the occasion. But now our house has become unusable.

The roof needs to be completely rebuilt, and the back of the house needs to be completely rebuilt. All this will cost about LKR 2 million (USD 6700). This is a huge amount of money that we will never find. But we also need to build the house as soon as possible. Otherwise, the roof could collapse on us at any moment.

As I mentioned earlier, despite managing my salary very carefully and taking care of our family’s essential needs, we have not been able to save any money after those expenses.

It was in this context that we heard about your incredible organization “Begslist”.

Accordingly, we have decided to seek the kind help of the donors of your organization to find the money needed to repair the roof and the back side of our house, which is currently causing us great distress. So, we kindly request all the kind-hearted donors of the organization to help us find the amount of LKR 2 million (USD 6700) required for that.

I respectfully inform you that I am ready to submit to all the conditions of the organization.
