My name is Kamal Mani, and I am a 20-year-old living in the Rasuwa District, located in the northern mountainous region of Nepal. I am writing this plea during the most agonizing and difficult crisis of my life. On August 26th, sudden and catastrophic floods and landslides swept through our community following severe torrential rainfall. In a matter of minutes, everything my family built and owned ,our home, our stored food, our clothing, and our safety was completely destroyed and washed away by the mud and floodwaters.

The physical loss of our house is devastating, but the emotional nightmare is far worse. When the floodwaters unexpectedly tore through our village, my family was separated. Right now, my mother and my three younger siblings are missing. Day after day, I am searching desperately through the mud, riverbanks, and fallen debris along with local community volunteers, hoping for any sign of life. Every passing hour without news feels unbearable. Across our district, a vast number of people have been severely affected. Many families cannot find their loved ones. Some neighbors have sadly been found dead, while many others remain missing without a trace. No one has heard anything from them, and the painful uncertainty is overwhelming.

At 20 years old, I am facing this unimaginable catastrophe with almost nothing left. I currently have no permanent roof over my head, no clean drinking water, no change of dry clothes, and no regular access to food. The localized destruction of infrastructure in Rasuwa makes obtaining daily essentials an immense challenge. I am not asking for a massive sum to rebuild everything overnight; I am reaching out for modest support to survive this immediate crisis and maintain the strength required to keep looking for my family.
