Story

My name is April and I have a daughter Allison that is disabled and in a wheelchair and has been her whole life. She was diagnosed with Cerebral Palsy and Epilepsy at birth. Allison is an amazing girl and she is so full of life! In her 19 years of life she has made so many others love her! Although she cannot communicate with words or walk or even do anything for herself she wakes up with a smile and makes everyone’s day! I have raised her on my own with the help of my family. I unfortunately have come into a desperate situation. I’m trying to get a wheelchair van due to the one I have currently can not be fixed and is now unsafe to drive. I have been spending day and night trying to find a way to get a new van. I became a stay at home mom many years ago due to all the medical issues that my daughter has had to face over the years. Businesses do not understand the amount of care someone with disabilities face and aren’t real giving when you can’t be at work when your in the hospital with your child. I do not have the means to afford a new van and my family is doing the best they can to help but obtaining a new vehicle is insane and one that doesn’t have a high payment is just hard. I’m looking for help to being able to make this happen. Allison lives going every where!! When she knows we are leaving she gets so excited. Ever since I got my first van and was able to take her places she has loved it. Although we don’t really do to many exciting things we do go to the store or to a park! She has many doctors appointments and sone i have to drive 2 hours to get to. She is involved in camps and Easter Seals but I no longer have a way to get her there! She lives being out in the community and these places take her to do many thing with others like her! I have fought her whole life yo get her the things she needs and I feel completely helpless. If anyone could please help I would be forever grateful! She deserves the world for what she has been through in her life! Doesn’t matter if she’s in the hospital or at school her smile is infectious!! Please help any way you cam! Thank you from the bottom of my heart!!
