I hope this message finds you well. Reaching out for help is never easy, but I find myself in a position where I have no other choice. Over the past two years, my life has been profoundly impacted by severe medical issues, including a prolonged battle with sepsis caused by kidney stones. These challenges have not only taken a toll on my health but have also disrupted my ability to work and provide for my daughter.  My kidney function is now slightly above the need for dialysis. I struggle everyday with tasks that mothers should be able to do with ease.  I have a second port now so that they can give me medication directly into my vein.

I was laid off from my job due to the duration of my illness, and the occurrence of the health issues and have since exhausted my unemployment benefits. Despite my best efforts, I am unable to secure steady income, and my application for disability—a necessary step—comes with its own lengthy process and uncertainties. In the meantime, I am struggling to cover our basic needs.

My daughter, who just turned 16, deserves the kind of support and stability every child needs, especially during the holiday season. However, with a $600 mortgage, a $200 heating bill, and only $112 in monthly food assistance for the two of us, I am facing an overwhelming financial gap.

I’m humbly asking for your help during this difficult time. Any support you can provide—whether financial assistance, resources, or simply sharing this message—would make a world of difference for my daughter and me. Your generosity could help us stay warm, keep food on the table, and even give my daughter a glimmer of joy this holiday season.
