Hi everyone, I hope this message finds you well. I’m reaching out with a heavy heart, as my fiancé and I are currently facing a very difficult situation. We’ve always believed in hard work and responsibility. Both of us lead sober lives and have no criminal records. However, despite our efforts, we’re in serious need of help right now. Recently, I was blessed with a beautiful 9-month-old baby boy. After much discussion, we decided it would be best for me to stay home and care for him. This has placed all the financial strain on my fiancé, who has been working tirelessly, seven days a week, for the past year. I’ve been actively trying to find work and help my partner secure a better job, but due to the BEE regulations in South Africa, it feels nearly impossible. We are in severe financial distress, especially since my fiancé has recently been placed on short hours. We are struggling to afford basic necessities, including food. Both of us have lost significant weight and barely have clothes that fit; the few we do have are becoming threadbare.

The limited money we have left after paying rent goes to ensuring our little boy has the food he needs to grow healthy and strong. This means my fiancé and I are often eating polony sandwiches every night. I’m also running out of diapers quickly, and I’m honestly at a loss for how to get more.

It has taken a lot of courage for me to reach out and ask for help. We’re in a tough place, and I’m not sure what else to do. All we need is a chance to breathe and share a decent meal. Right now, it feels like we’re drowning, and I’m genuinely terrified.
If anyone can extend a helping hand, it would mean the world to us and truly change our lives.

I would also like to use the money to make a “medical kitty” for my little one in case anything happens, god forbid, due to me not being able to afford medical aid right now. The government hospitals are terrifying, so it would be such a blessing to have the resources to take him to receive proper medical attention.
