Kindly help to get back into my feet.
Story
Dear lovely people of the world,
My names are David from Kenya and I am an accountant by profession. I lost my job in 2017 and because I had a both passion and lot of experience in the agricultural sector, I decided to start farming in the coastal town of Taveta. Using my savings, I bought 2.5 acres of land and started tomatoes farming. The project took off very well and in a span of about 2 years, I had managed to increase the effective acreage under farming from the initial 2.5 acres to about 20 acres.
Then the Covid epidemic happened. The country was literally locked up and accessing the markets became in a nightmare. In the process I lost crops valued in excess of $500,000 in the field because there were no markets to uptake my produce. The bank loans I had procured for the project became hard to service. Technically I suddenly became bankrupt.
As a result of the failure of my farming project, i had to sell most of the land that I had bought to repay bank loans. Since then I have never found peace. I have been living on debt from family and friends. I have since moved to town and started several a green grocery shop which was recently auctioned for rent arrears.
I am currently seeking any kind of employment, but the biggest burden is the debts and unpaid bills that are not giving me a peace of mind. I believe if I can get as little as $20,000 i can be able to get myself back on a sound financial footing.
I am sending out this appeal because I believe out there, there could be a helping hand that could make all the difference in my current predicament.
Looking forward to your help.
Warmest Regards,
David
