Hi, my name is Mario and I’m reaching out during a very difficult time. My family and I recently laid Inez Campbell to rest. While we are grateful to have been able to give them the farewell they deserved, the expenses of the funeral have been overwhelming.
Inez entered this world filled with the light of Christ on December 7, 1939, in Old
Road, St. Ann. She was the only daughter of Sylvester and Leanna Clarke and the
sister of Delmore, Artnell, and myself, Elkanah. She was a devoted wife to Edgar
Campbell for more than 60 years and loving mother to Merla, Carlton, and
Shireese. Additionally, she was a proud grandmother of five including, through
them, a great-grandmother. She was a kind, peaceful, and humorous woman who
loved to laugh, just like the rest of her family.
In her younger years, Inez made
significant contributions to her community as a member of the home nursing
team for the St. John Ambulance Division in Runaway Bay. Inez also set-up the
first infant school in Old Road until she decided to be a domestic helper, which
sometimes took her to Grand Cayman Island, California and Florida.
Inez was always smiling, with an infectious laugh, and she was a helpful face seen
when she assisted Auntie Miry in her local shop. She lived her life as an expression
of her faith in the Lord and played a vital role in her church by serving as its synod
representative each year. Inez was highly regarded in Old Road and the
surrounding communities, holding various positions within her church. She
enjoyed traveling to visit her families in Canada and the United States.
Inez, the only girl in a family full of brothers, had a close and special relationship
with each of them. She cared for them like a second mother, ensuring they knew
they were loved and sharing in the special bond of family.
She will be dearly missed by both family and memebers of her church and community.
