Help us start a new beginning
Story
Hello my name is Matthew Porter my significant other Donna have been going through a rough season or two. Life has tested us in ways we never imagined, but Donna and I refuse to let hardship define our future.

For years, we poured our hearts into helping those in need, lending a hand wherever we could and making a difference at a men’s shelter in tioga Pennsylvania. It wasn’t just work it was a calling. But everything changed when a court order for child support led to the wrongful termination of my employment, costing us both our jobs and our home. We were discredited, faced homelessness without a legal eviction, and even endured false accusations that could have taken away our freedom. Despite proving our innocence, we were still forced to leave the very shelter we helped run.
Now, we’re in Wellsboro, trying to rebuild. But the organization we once worked for appears to be blocking our path to stable employment, making it nearly impossible for us to move forward. As a result, we’re now four months behind on rent, struggling to hold onto the last bit of stability we have.
With our court date approaching on June 9th for the overdue rent, we are doing everything we can to avoid resorting to sleeping in our car. That’s why we’re reaching out—seeking kindness, understanding, and support from those who believe in second chances.
Every contribution, no matter the size, can help us secure a place to stay, cover essential living expenses, and give us the foundation we need to start over. Your generosity isn’t just financial aid it’s a lifeline, a step toward building a better future and a reminder that compassion can change lives.
Thank you for listening to our story. With your kindness and support, we can overcome this and rebuild our future.
