Dear Kind-hearted Well-wishers,

I am a 30-year-old young adult from Kenya. I graduated from college a few years ago and, like many others in my country, I have struggled to find stable, well-paying employment. I currently work as a freelance Virtual Assistant, which helps me cover my basic daily needs.

Recently, the Kenyan government launched an Affordable Housing Program that offers citizens the chance to own a home at rates far lower than the market prices through a rent-to-own model. It is a once-in-a-lifetime opportunity for me to finally move out of a relative’s home where I am currently being hosted, and into a place I can proudly call my own.

To secure a unit, I am required to make a 10% deposit of approximately USD 1,550. The process is highly competitive, and the earlier one makes the payment, the higher the chances of being allocated a home. Unfortunately, I am falling short of this amount despite my best efforts to save.

This is why I am humbly reaching out to you for help. Any contribution, no matter how small, will bring me one step closer to having a home of my own a safe space where I can grow, work, and continue building my future.
