My grandma was recently in an accident with one of our two huskies; the dog decided to pull her and it caused my grandma Birdie to fall off the deck and land on her feet, which caused a fracture in the bottom of her calf. She’s been bedridden for the past week since the incident, and the doctor gave her a walker but she’s still in too much pain on her other foot (not broken, just bruised) to stand up without assistance while using it, and my grandpa thinks the doctor made the right call on the walker, so he’s not interested in doing anything. I know this would help her a lot and I would be extremely grateful for any and all support. I’d like to get her one with large wheels so my grandpa doesn’t have to push her around everywhere, also.

This is the first time she’s broken a bone; she’s quite healthy otherwise. The dogs haven’t been over since, but she used to walk them with my grandpa around the neighbourhood. She also prepares meals for us both. I’ve taken over as cook for the meantime and my grandpa can handle groceries, but I’d like for my grandma to be able to still experience her house. She’s rarely left her room since the incident, her room has a bathroom and my grandpa takes meals to her in bed. I want to do this for her (ideally as a surprise but if there is progress I’ll happily tell her) because I love her but I haven’t been able to get a job since June of last year.
