Hello, I’m Malek Mejri, a 19-year-old Tunisian student in Irvine, California. Studying in the U.S. has always been my dream, and I’m grateful for the opportunity to earn my degree. However, the reality of living abroad has brought unexpected challenges.
Each month, I struggle to balance tuition fees, rent, daily expenses, and transportation costs while doing my best in school. Rising living costs make it harder to keep up, and as an international student, I can’t work full-time. My father can no longer support my studies, leaving me overwhelmed by these responsibilities.

Hello, I am Malek Mejri, a 19 year old Tunisian student in Irvine, California.
As an international student, pursuing my studies in the U.S has always been my dream. At 19 years old, I finally have the opportunity to earn a degree from a college in the United States. Even though this is an incredible chance and a golden opportunity to make that dream come true, the reality of studying abroad and living away from home has brought some unexpected hardships.
Every month, I face the struggling of balancing tuition fees, rent, daily expenses, and transportation costs, while still trying to do my best in school. The rising cost of living has made it increasingly difficult to keep up. In addition, as an international student in the US, I am not allowed to work full-time. Despite my father’s best efforts, he is no longer able to sponsor my studies here. As a result, I find myself overwhelmed by the weight of these responsibilities.
I am reaching out for support to help me finish this journey. Your contribution will help me cover essential expenses and needs like rent, groceries, tuition fees, as well as buying a car (seeing that I live in California, where it is almost impossible to move around and get things done without a car). No amount is small, and any donation can make a significant impact on my life.
