Story

Kalanga village in Kitui county, Kenya is situated in a semiarid area. It’s characterised by low rainfall and high temperature. This has necessitated the persistent drought due to lack of food where the population has to depends on the government for donations. The lack of water forces women and girls to walk for long distance in search of water wasting a lot of their productive time and in the process are exposed to contaminated water.

To solve this problem we have manged to purchase 12 solar panels, dug a well, bought a one acre drip pipes and acquired a submersible pump. Unfortunately this can only used during the day between 0900hrs and 1500hrs. This is not sufficient especially during cloudy days. I therefore intend to raise funds so as to purchase two  (2) 15kw 300ah 48v lithium battery at a local price of KSH 418,520/- each (about £3,245 us dollars) both to cost KSH 837,040/- (about £6,489 us dollars) and an inverter (preferably growatt spf 12000tl hvm) at KSH 283,000/- (about £2,193 us dollars).

I  therefore seek to raise KSH 1,120,040/- (about 8,682 us dollars)to realize sustainability, effective, reliability and efficiency in pumping water in the changing climate.
