Short Story

In 2017, I had a strong credit score of around 750, but an injury at work in December of that year drastically changed my financial situation. I was out of work on workers’ compensation for the entire year of 2018, receiving only a percentage of my usual income. To make ends meet, I relied on credit cards, which led to account defaults and a drop in my credit score to around 600. Despite my efforts, I’ve been living paycheck to paycheck and my score has now fallen to 550. A recent divorce has worsened my financial struggles, and the need to finance a new vehicle with a nearly 20% interest rate due to my poor credit has added to my debt, which now totals around $55,000. If I could eliminate this debt, I’d be able to rebuild my financial life and support my family, finally achieving financial freedom. I’m seeking assistance to help me overcome these challenges and start fresh. Thank you for your consideration.

Story

In 2017, I was in a strong financial position with a credit score of around 750, a reflection of my diligent efforts to manage my finances responsibly. However, in December of that year, my life took an unexpected turn when I was injured on the job. This injury not only sidelined me physically but also had a significant impact on my financial well-being.

Due to the severity of the injury, I was unable to work throughout the entire year of 2018, and I had to rely on workers’ compensation as my primary source of income. Unfortunately, workers’ compensation only provided a percentage of my regular earnings, which was not enough to cover all my living expenses. As a result, I was forced to turn to credit cards to supplement my income and make ends meet. Despite my best efforts to manage my finances during this challenging time, I found myself unable to keep up with all of my financial obligations, leading to several accounts defaulting. Consequently, my credit score dropped to around 600.

Since then, I have been working hard to regain my financial stability. However, living paycheck to paycheck has made it extremely difficult to make significant progress in paying off my debts. Despite my continued efforts, my financial situation has only worsened, and my credit score has now dropped to around 550.

To add to my financial struggles, I recently went through a divorce, which further exacerbated my financial challenges. As part of the separation, I was left with a significant amount of debt, which has made it even more difficult to stay afloat. In addition, the vehicle that I was financing experienced a catastrophic engine failure, leaving me with no choice but to finance another vehicle. Due to my low credit score, the interest rate on the new vehicle is nearly 20%, adding another significant financial burden to my already strained budget.

Currently, I am carrying around $55,000 in debt, which has become an overwhelming obstacle to achieving financial freedom. If I were able to eliminate this debt, I could start fresh and build a secure financial future for myself and my family. At 35 years old, I am determined to turn my financial situation around and create a stable and prosperous life for myself and those who depend on me.

I am seeking financial assistance to help me eliminate this debt and finally achieve the financial freedom I have been striving for. With a clean slate, I would be able to support my family, improve my credit score, and move forward with confidence and security. Your consideration and support during this challenging time would make a world of difference, allowing me to break free from the cycle of debt and begin building a brighter financial future. Thank you for taking the time to hear my story and for considering my request for assistance.
