Short Story
To the people of good heart
Life Change Ministry is a registered non-profit organization in South Africa – NPO-090-057 since 2011—that aims to bring life & hope to the underprivileged. The organization had impacted more than 10,000 lives already in Cape Town & Krugersdorp in South Africa and DR Congo places such as Kinshasa/Kimpoko and Kasai, which the link below summarizes 14 years of work:
The restoration of this fieldwork aims to continue working in collaboration with law enforcement, churches, and like-minded organizations/bodies to guide the underprivileged vagrants in family reunions, finding shelters or rehabs, and any other facilities or organizations of assistance and providing emergency assistance such as ID acquisition for governmental grant access to be able to find a place. The workers generally wear Life Change t-shirts as form of identification
The General Manager is expected to conduct a pre-consultation with different stakeholders such as law enforcement, churches, businesses, the ratepayers association, the mayoral office of Cape Town, the provincial government, and the general public prior to launching the program, hoping that the meeting will be at the law enforcement office as previously done before the outreach and pamphlets will be handed over and time will be allocated to listen to the vagrants before providing guidance and then issuing pamphlets of general information for assistance depending on needs for either rehab or shelter and documentation.
The program is expected to be conducted at least bi-weekly until it becomes weekly. A van or private transport with a chauffeur will be available to assist any vagrant in a family reunion or to assist in going to any facility depending on needs.
This is the first phase of the program, which consists of fieldwork, and it will be assessed after 1 year before starting with the second phase, which aims to secure a new facility to empower the vagrants in digital skills, including IT, AI and other graphic designs. The program will be expected to be expanded by the successful candidates in the program in the Cape Flats or locations of their origin, where they originated. Hence, the success or failure of the program will highly depend on them and the community housing the concept’s implementation.
