Help Emeri and Her Three Children Stay Safe and Housed

My name is Luke, and I’m writing this on behalf of my dear friend, Emeri Angelou—a loving, resilient single mother of three beautiful children who is facing unimaginable hardship.

A little over a year ago, Emeri survived a brutal act of domestic violence. Her ex-husband—now her abuser—broke her jaw. In the time since, she has worked tirelessly to rebuild her life and provide stability for her children. But now, the ground beneath her is giving way again.

Until recently, Emeri and her children were receiving military benefits through her ex-husband. But after he was discharged from the military, all of that support disappeared—overnight. She now faces the very real threat of homelessness.

Despite everything she’s been through, Emeri is determined to provide for her children. She’s actively searching for work, but with no safety net and three children depending on her, it’s nearly impossible to stay afloat.

I am also currently without stable housing, and it breaks my heart that I have nothing more to give her—except this plea for help.

We’re setting a goal of $20,000 to help Emeri:

• Secure, safe and stable housing for her and her kids
• Cover basic needs like groceries, transportation, and school supplies
• Access trauma-informed care and support services
• Bridge the gap as she works toward long-term stability
• Keep her kids therapy going
