Hi, my name is Glennys Baez. For me, it is very difficult to enter this page and open my heart.

I left the United States with my daughter and my granddaughter because the situation was very difficult economically, and for health reasons, we decided to leave in search of a better lifestyle. We moved to the Dominican Republic, which is my homeland, with the idea of starting a way of life and work that would help us get ahead. This happened in 2012, and we cannot complain about the results.

We were doing well, but with the pandemic in 2020, everything began to destabilize. From having a stable job, we went to starting a business that would give us the possibility to meet our primary needs. We started an upholstery business, and my daughter learned the art of fixing old furniture. We introduced some decorations that gave us the possibility of obtaining additional income.

Honestly, we were doing ok until February 2023. I met a person who we thought would complement our family stability, and it turned out to be a bad person that only took advantage of our weaknesses to form a family. After getting what he wanted, building a new house, furnishing it with our upholstery knowledge, and draining my finances to make that house livable, I discovered that he was only using me and was deceiving me with a younger person he met online, and they were planning everything to replace me, without any consideration, he threw us out of the house.

Without finances and without a place to live, we had to start from scratch, and it has indeed been difficult to stabilize ourselves again. Mentally weak and with little strength to reintegrate into tasks that have become more difficult because I was mentally unstable and need funds to lift my business again so I can rise like the phoenix. We were thinking about the possibility of going back to the United States, but all of our passports are expired and starting over there would also be more costly.

Right now, I am behind on basic expenses: rent, utilities, educational expenses for my granddaughter, and additionally, the vehicle needs repairs. It is because of all this that I find myself in the unfortunate situation of turning to this means and to the people who are blessed with financial stability so that they can support my family to be able to start over. Any help, no matter how small, counts to return to the stability we had before. We learn from our mistakes, and they make us stronger to not commit them again. My family and I thank you in advance for the help we will receive and with the assurance that in the near future we will be able to help others in need.
